We slept moderately in
Resort Belvedere in Vrsar.
That is because of a different bed, different surroundings, different sounds, ....
It is a pity that there are no bottles of water in the room, the tap water is drinkable but
it does taste like chlorine.
After we showered, we go looking for breakfast, and we find it quickly.
The breakfast room is a large room where the sound reverberates strongly on the bare walls.
There is nothing to complain about the breakfast.
There are five or six large coffee machines that make good espresso, among other things.
The choice of bread and toppings is wide and good, as is the dairy, fruit and vegetables.
Eggs are freshly fried, unfortunately there is no fresh fruit juice.
After breakfast we walk along the water from the harbour to what we think must be the centre
of Vrsar.
We see many restaurants and a few shops.
Fishing boats are unloaded along one of the quays, lots of anchovies.
The idea Tom has, based on Google Maps, turns out
not to match reality, the centre is on the other side of the harbour.
There we also find many restaurants that we remember from Google Maps.
In a small supermarket we buy water, beer and wine and bring it back to the room, quite heavy. That's why we rest for a while in the shade of a few trees, it's quite warm.
Then we walk back towards the centre, but now from the room along the beach.
And there we see to our surprise a building in Thai style where Thai massage is given.
In the centre we now look better at the restaurants, there are many more restaurants than
Google indicates.
The menu choice is limited, it all looks very similar, and we have often noticed that during
other journeys.
The architectural style is very similar to that in other countries in Southern Europe.
We eat an extensive lunch at Al Mare along the boulevard and the water of the harbour, beer, wine, octopus salad and a fish dish. The octopus is bland, we season it with oil and vinegar. The fish dish (mussels, squid, shrimp and sea bream) tastes better. After the meal we get a drink on the house.
The weather is changing, it is getting cloudy and gloomy.
According to the weather forecast, there will be heavy thunderstorms with lots of rain, lots
of lightning strikes and lots of wind.
We go back to the hotel and recover from lunch in the room and on the balcony.
We are joined by a few seagulls.
Around five o'clock it starts to rain, sometimes very hard.
At about eight o'clock the rain eases.
We go, with umbrellas with us, to the restaurant, Lovor Real Grill, where there would be
live music on the terrace tonight.
The music is not on the terrace but inside the restaurant, there are not that many people
and there is no barbecue tonight.
We drink something and order a starter, ham, cheese, vegetables.
Around 10 o'clock we go back to the room.
It starts raining again.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
